D.I.Y Dollar Tree Photobox

09.14.2020

I scrolled down social media for years and saw people take these fantastic product photos, and I wondered how they did it. From a youtube video, I found out that people have been using photo boxes to create these magnificent and clear images of their products.

A decent Photobox on amazon runs at $40, but I wanted to know if there is a cheaper option and not have to sacrifice the quality. I started finding a ton of D.I.Y’s that photographers do, and I learned how to make my photo box with very little money, less than 10 dollars.

Follow this tutorial below, and I will show you how!

Supplies Needed:

Packaging Tape

Scissors

White Posterboard

Black Posterboard (optional)

White plastic Table cloth

Box Cutter

Cardboard Box

Step 1:

I grabbed an old cardboard box I had laying around the house from a package I had gotten before. Get your box cutter as well.

Step 2:

Take the longer side of the boxes and use your box cutter to cut out a rectangular square.

See picture below:

You will do this on both the long sides of the box, and it will end up looking like picture frames on both sides of the box.

Step 3:

Then you will do the same from Step 2 to the other side of the box, but you are only going to do one of the shorter sides. One side, you will leave untouched.

See Picture Below:

Step 4:

Take your white poster board, which is going to be your backdrop.

Cover the inside of the box that you did not cut entirely with the poster board. Cut however much you would need using some packing tape. Put the packing tape on the back of the poster board, so it is out of sight.

See Picture Below:

You can change out this backdrop; however, many times, you want different colors.

Step 5:

Take the plastic table cover you got, and now you will tape that around the areas that are open from the outside of the box. The Plastic table covering will help your lighting when taking pictures of your product.

See Pictures below:

Step 6:

You are finished! Put your product in there and started playing around with the Pictures.

Tip: You can get desk lights to help brighten up your pictures even more.

Now that you have created a Photobox, your pictures will be even better quality than before. I hope you enjoyed this D.I.Y.

Stay tuned for more to come.
